Chun Mee Chinese Green Tea

Chun Mee Chinese Green Tea is a traditional loose leaf green tea made from carefully selected Chinese Chun Mee green tea leaves. Also known as Zhen Mei, meaning “Precious Eyebrows”, this tea takes its name from the lightly curved shape of the leaf.

Pan-fired in the classic Chinese green tea style, Chun Mee offers a brisk, lively and refreshing cup with a clean green tea character. The flavour is more defined than soft or sweet green teas, with gentle sharpness, light vegetal notes and a subtle smoky touch that remains much lighter than Gunpowder tea.

Chun Mee is a good choice for green tea drinkers who enjoy a more traditional, characterful Chinese cup. Best enjoyed plain, it works well as an everyday green tea when you want freshness, clarity and a slightly brisk finish.

Chun Mee

Preparation and Brewing

Chun mee is more easily oversteeped than some types of green tea. As with many green teas, but more noticeably with this type, it is especially important to make sure that the temperature of the water is not too hot, and the steeping time is not too long. Even high quality Chun mee tea can become acidic and astringent to the point of being undrinkable if it is brewed with water that is too hot.

Chun mee can be a good tea to choose as a base for blending with mint, to prepare Moroccan mint tea or a similar blend.
