Ceylon BOP1 Black Tea is a high-quality Sri Lankan loose leaf black tea made from carefully selected Ceylon BOP1 black tea leaves. BOP1 stands for Broken Orange Pekoe 1, a respected broken-leaf grade known for golden, wiry leaves of medium length and a refined, mildly malty flavour.
BOP1 teas are often produced from high-grown and medium-grown Ceylon tea gardens in Sri Lanka’s central highlands, at elevations of around 2,000 to 6,000 feet above sea level. This altitude helps create a brighter liquor, cleaner taste and fresher cup profile than many lower-grown black teas.
